Introducing the Reet

 

Designed by Josh Mitcheson, the Reet is FY Kites' baseline quad-line platform, created for everyone from first-time quad pilots to experienced competitors. Development began in 2024 with one goal: to create a fundamentally different quad-line kite that could do more while preserving the qualities that have made quad flying so enduring. The final production ready design was completed in April 2026, resulting in a kite that's simple to fly, yet capable of so much more.

Most quad-line kites are designed to be flown from the drive. The Reet takes a different approach. Built around brake control, it unlocks a level of rotational freedom that conventional quad-line kites were never designed to achieve. Constant feedback, precise tracking, effortless reverse flight and exceptional stability create a kite that feels intuitive from the very first flight, whether you're learning the fundamentals or exploring advanced freestyle.

Five wind-range builds to suit your style:

• Standard (STD): 3–15 mph – The all-round performer, delivering balanced handling and precise control across the widest range of conditions.

• ​

• Mid Vent (MVD): 8–20 mph – Reduces sail pressure while maintaining the responsive feel of the Standard, making it ideal as the wind begins to build.

• Vented (VTD): 11–27 mph – Increased ventilation provides greater stability, smoother handling and improved control in stronger winds.

• Extra Vent (XVD): 16–30 mph – Designed for consistently breezy conditions, offering excellent composure and reduced pull without sacrificing precision.

• Hyper Vented (HVD): 17+ mph – Maximum ventilation for demanding conditions, delivering confidence, control and predictable handling when the wind is at its strongest.
